Yolanda Brown, Tosin Martins Others for Mike Aremu’s Sax Appeal

Mike Aremu has got sax appeal – but he’s not keeping it all to himself! The jazz maestro is calling on his friends: Yolanda Brown, Bez, Kunle Ayo, Tosin Martins and Judith Sephuma to join him on Saturday July 24 as he delivers a lavish musical concert riding on the power of the saxophone and a million-and-one other instruments.

Aremu tells NET he’s staging Sax Appeal as his own way of making beautiful live music fashionable again, in an environment where the quality of live shows are dropping at an alarming rate. ‘We’re making it a tradition, to bring some of the best talents around together every year in an atmosphere of fun, love and lavish music’.

This year’s concert will feature rising Nigerian singer Bez, star singer Tosin Martins, South Africa-based Jazz act Kunle Ayo, two-time MOBO winner Yolanda Brown and South African act Judith Sephuma.

‘It’s going to be a battle of the saxophones’ Mike says jokingly. ‘Everyone’s coming out with their best stuff. We want to create a very memorable evening. The fans deserve the best and we’re willing to give it to them’.

Sax Appeal is billed for the Shell Hall of the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
