Chiagoziem Onyekwena

BlackHouse Media has announced the appointment of Mr. Chiagoziem Onyekwena as the editor of www.thenetng.com .

According to a statement from BlackHouse Media, Abuja-based Onyekwena, who has been writing for the journal since inception in November 2009, will be responsible for managing the website’s daily content as well as attracting traffic and supervising reporters/contributors from all over the world. His appointment took effect from August 9, 2010.

Chiagoziem Onyekwena started his career in journalism in 2007 while schooling in Ghana. While there he wrote and co-hosted his own show on popular radio station Kessewaa FM (now Radio Xtacy) before moving to Dove FM (both in Kumasi). The OAP leveraged on the popularity of his show to launch his event management outfit with the aim of managing and promoting Nigerian events in Ghana.

On returning home, he became a staff writer with Nigeria’s most respected music magazine HipHopWorld. The following year, he became an in-house reviewer/analysts for thenetng, and a senior contributor for
NET Newspapers.

Founded by respected entertainment writer and critic Ayeni AdekunleNigerian Entertainment Today combines reporting from an in-house team of well-trained writer-reporters, as well as contributions from some of the finest names in Nigerian media and entertainment.

Launched on Monday November 23, 2009, theNETng.com is Nigeria’s fastest-growing entertainment, youth lifestyle and urbane culture website, with over 2,000,000 page views in the first six months.

NET Newspapers on the other hand debuted on April 26, 2010 with a special tribute to late rapper Dagrin. With a circulation that spreads across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Kano, Maiduguri and Abeokuta, NET has within three months become a must-read for those keen on happenings within Nigeria’s Entertainment industry

A firm advocate of sobriety, Onyekwena spends his free time watching football, playing chess and dunking basketballs. He belongs to ‘Team Twitter’; is an incurable pessimist, and was single as at press time.

He also works as a Computer Engineer.
